About IISER Mohali
In the Pursuit of Knowledge • Established in 2007
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali was established in 2007 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to carry out frontline research in basic sciences and to provide world-class education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Located on a vibrant 125-acre campus in Knowledge City, Sector 81, SAS Nagar (Mohali), the institute offers BS-MS Dual Degree, Integrated PhD, and PhD programs.
As an Institute of National Importance, IISER Mohali is recognized as a leader in scientific education, cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, and societal outreach. The modern campus houses state-of-the-art research instrumentation, advanced laboratories, and a community of acclaimed scientists and passionate young researchers.
Foundation Day is celebrated annually on 27th September to commemorate the laying of the institute's foundation stone. It represents our core commitment to science communication: opening our doors to school students and educators from across the region to spark curiosity, demystify fundamental sciences, and inspire future generations of scientific pioneers.
